CONFIRMED: Shiv Sena not in NCP-Congress plans for BMC Mayor polls

Amidst ongoing talks between Nationalist Congress Party (NCP), Shiv Sena and Congress over a possible coalition to run Maharashtra, senior NCP leer Nawab Malik said that Congress-NCP alliance will field candidates in upcoming Mayoral elections in state and re have been talks with Shiv Sena on same. 27 municipal bodies will go to polls to elect a Mayor on vember 22 including cities like Mumbai, Thane, Aurangab and Pune among ors.

"We are in talks for state government formation with Shiv Sena but that is completely different from Mayor elections in various cities on vember 22. We will field our candidates of NCP and Congress wherever we can. We have t done any talks about Mayor elections with Shiv Sena yet," NCP Mumbai chief Nawab Malik said.

As per same, Mumbai, Sangli, Pune, Nashik, Kalyan-Dombivali, Nagpur, Thane, and Ulhasnagar have been reserved for Open category. Navi Mumbai, Panvel, Akola, Aurangab, Pimpri-Chinchw, Jalgaon, Bhivandi, and Chandrapur have been reserved for women in Open category. mayor's post for municipal corporation of Mira Bhayandar is reserved for Scheduled Tribes (ST) while that of Vasai-Virar is reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC). Women corporators from Scheduled Castes will be he of Ahmednagar and Parbhani corporations. distribution of mination forms will begin from Saturday while mination forms would be accepted on vember 20 between 11 am and 2 pm.
