On Thursday, October 17, Congress MLA Aditi Singh met Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and said her meeting was related to developmental works in her constituency Raebareli Sadar. While speaking to news agency ANI, she said, "I had taken an appointment with the Chief Minister for Thursday. He usually gives time to MLAs on this day in the week. I came to meet him in connection with the work of my constituency."
Aditi Singh on the show-cause notice issued by Congress
Speaking about the show-cause notice issued by her party for attending special Assembly session on October 2, the Congress MLA said that she stands by her earlier statement. "I took the decision to go to the assembly session because Uttar Pradesh qualifies for 16 of the 17 sustainable development goals set by the United Nations. I wanted to talk about it. I wanted to talk about development," she had earlier said.

Aditi Singh supported BJP-led Central government's decisions
Aditi Singh, the Congress MLA from Raebareli (Sadar), had supported the BJP-led central government's move to abrogate Article 370 of the Constitution that granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir and she went against her party for the second time by attending the special Assembly session called in by the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh. While most of the opposition parties including the Congress, Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) decided to boycott the event, Singh not only decided to go ahead with it but also presented active participation during the session. She spoke about issues relating to sanitation and drinking water that she said people were facing in her constituency.

Rumours that she might join BJP
Surprisingly, not only did Singh attend the BJP-organised event, but she also maintained a safe distance from a peace march that was led by Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in Lucknow on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Her presence during the session sparked up rumours of her changing sides soon since she’s been seen supporting the Modi-led government in its decisions. However, no official statement has come about it yet.
