In a massive development in Hathras case, Uttar Presh CM Yogi ityanath on Saturday, has ordered case to be transferred to Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). ityanath has alrey ordered suspension of five police officers including district's Police Superintendent (SP) Vikrant Vir for midnight funeral. A 3-member SIT is currently probing into alleged gangrape of 19-year-old Dalit woman by four upper-caste men.

Earlier in day, Uttar Presh ditional Chief Secretary Awanish Awasthi stated that 3-member SIT will investigate into all points raised by victim's family including alleged gangrape. five police officers - SP Vikrant Vir, Commanding officer Ram Shabd, Inspector Dinesh Kumar Verma, Sub Inspector Jagveer Singh, and He Constable Mahesh Pal were suspended based on preliminary report submitted by SIT on Friday - allegedly for 'midnight funeral'. Moreover, all officers involved in case will have to undertake narco and polygraph tests, as ordered by Chief Minister.

What is Hathras rape case?
victim was allegedly raped in Hathras on September 14 in a field, leaving her in a critical condition. When her condition worsened, she was referred to AIIMS but was mitted to Safdarjung hospital in Delhi on Monday with spinal cord injuries, paralysis and cuts in her tongue. She died around 3 am on Tuesday, but her autopsy report has mention of rape. Police have claimed that Hathras gangrape victim was 't raped' after postmortem report stated 'neck injury and trauma' as cause of death and that traces of sperm were found in her private parts.

case took an ugly turn when UP police cremated victim's body at 2:30 AM on Wednesday, allegedly without family's consent, which has been refuted by police. While police bandobast is still heavy at Hathras, police have allowed media people or politicians to enter district after a 48-hour ban as SIT continues its probe. After a major protest and two attempts, Gandhi siblings - Priyanka and Rahul were allowed to visit victim's home by UP police. ityanath has anunced an ex-gratia of Rs 25 lakh, a house along with a government job to one family member of victim.
