Bihar: Four minor girls escape Asha Kiran shelter home in Patna; search on
Four minor girls from Asha Kiran shelter home in Bihar were found to have escaped. The police has said that they will do their best to find the girls.

Four minor girls have escaped from Asha Kiran shelter home in Patna in Bihar. The home is located on the campus well-known school Notre Dame Academy's school.
The incident came to light in the morning on Sunday when the officials of the shelter home saw a dupatta tied to the window of the home on the second floor. The girls appeared to have climbed down second-floor window using their dupatta. Soon after, the headcount of the girls was done and it was found out that four girls were missing. Three of the four missing girls came from West Bengal while one came from Araria in Bihar had come from other states to Bihar. Three girls are 16 years old while one is twelve years old.

Patna SSP Manu Maharaj said that an FIR has been lodged in Patliputra police station and police is making efforts to recover the girls at the earliest.
Director of Social Welfare Raj Kumar said that this shelter home is aided by Bihar government which is being run in the campus of Notre Dame Academy school.

Girls who have lost their way or recovered from railway stations or mentally challenged live in this home.

The incident comes months after the horrific case of rape and murder of over 30 minor girls in a state-aided shelter home. In June, 34 minor girls from Seva Sankalp Evam Vikas Samiti shelter home in Muzaffarpur in Bihar were reported to be raped and murdered. Eleven people including main accused Brajesh Thakur, who ran the home, were arrested. The case is being probed by the CBI.

On October 25, the Supreme Court asked the CBI to file a status report and explain the delay in tracing Chandrashekhar Verma, husband of ex-Bihar minister Manju Verma, who has links with Thakur. Manju Verma was asked by the Bihar government to quit after there was evidence of her husband's involvement in the case.
