Delhi Police conducted raids at various places in Jalandhar to nab possible suspects of Red Fort flag hoisting but couldn't find them on the tracked location

Investigating  violence that ensued after farmers' tractor rally on Republic Day and vandalism at Red Fort, Delhi Police on Saturday conducted raids at various places in Punjab's Jalandhar to nab possible suspects but couldn't find m on tracked location.  Delhi police raided Basti Bawa Khel area of Jalandhar while acting on gared information of two persons identified as Jugraj Singh and Navpreet Singh of Tarn Taran who are said to have hoisted Nishan Sahib flag on Red Fort.

Speaking with ANI, Jalandhar Police stated that Delhi Police approached police personnel at Basti Bawa Khel police station for furr coordination and communication as y could t find people y were looking for.

Deputy Commissioner of Police, Investigation, Jalandhar, Gurmeet Singh said, "A Delhi Police team comprising five to seven personnel had arrived in Jalandhar today morning to nab two youths named Jugraj Singh and Navpreet Singh of Tarn Taran suspected of being involved in vandalism at Red Fort on January 26.

"y did t find youths at tracked location. team also raided residence of one Kanwar Pal Singh Goldie who is said to have lived with m. body was taken into custody since above-named youths could t be found," added DCP.

Protests continue unabated

Meanwhile, farmers continue to protest at on border areas of Delhi as protest enters 66th day. If Republic day violence wasn't eugh, clashes broke out between protesting farmers and local villrs on Singhu border who had come appeal to farmers on Friday to vacate protest area.  two sides pelted stones and attacked each or with sticks, leading to a furr escalation in violence.  Delhi Police had to intervene which was met with stone-pelting. reafter, to control escalating situation,  police was forced to lathi-charge aggressive mob and fired tear gas shells. Several cops including SHO of Alipur suffered injuries in clash at Singhu Border.

Republic Day violence

Republic Day this year was marred with chaos and mayhem after tractor rally of farmers which turned violent with incidents of vandalism, rioting and assault on Policemen. violent mob also breached Red Fort, damd several areas of Fort and also planted a saffron flag and a yellow flag bearing holy Sikh symbol atop dome of Fort, while ar violent protestor planted flag on a podium in Red Fort. Farmers were seen riding bikes brandishing swords, sticks and vandalised a bus, drove tractors at full speed towards police personnel who were blocking m. Over 300 police personnel were injured in violence while one farmer died after his tractor turned turtle. Delhi Police has filed over 25 cases, several FIRs and arrested 19 people.
