Hathras rape: Aligarh medical college principal says victim was referred to AIIMS, not Safdarjung hospital

Principal of the Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC) hospital, where Hathras gangrape victim was under treatment has made a big revelation

In a shocking revelation in Hathras rape case, principal of Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC) hospital, where gangrape victim was under treatment for more than two weeks, said he h idea why she was mitted to Safdarjung hospital in Delhi when y h referred her to AIIMS. "We are t in a position to explain as to why patient was taken to Safarjung hospital in New Delhi when we h referred her to AIIMS. On night of September 28, victim's family sought permission to shift her and we willingly referred her to AIIMS," Professor Shahid Ali Siddiqui said. 

Asked about issue on Wednesday, JNMC authorities told reporters, " Hathras district ministration will be able to respond to this query, we h role in this." Siddiqui said, "rmally, decision to shift a patient for better medical facilities is taken by doctors in consultation with patient's family, but if family members wish to go by ir decision, y can do so and we always cooperate." Asked about certain conflicting media reports regarding injuries suffered by victim, he said re is scope for speculation as "we are only authorised to submit report to investigating officer or court".

19-year-old Dalit woman was allegedly raped by four upper-caste men in Hathras on September 14 and referred to Safdarjung hospital in Delhi on Monday with spinal cord injuries, paralysis and cuts in her tongue. She died at around 3 am on Tuesday.

Yogi govt forms SIT to fast-track case

Meanwhile, UP CM on Wednesday said that a three-member SIT has been set up to investigate Hathras gangrape incident. CM said that team will submit a report within seven days and has also directed for trial of case in a fast-track court.

three-member team comprising of state Home Secretary Bhagwan Swarup will also comprise members from Dalit community along with women members. Furr, Yogi ityanath has also spoken to Prime Minister on case, where PM Modi has said that strict action must be taken against culprit

state government has anunced an ex-gratia of Rs 25 lakh and a house along with a government job to one family member. CM also spoke to family via video-link and assured woman's far of stringent action against four men who have been arrested.
