UP DGP & Chief Secretary brief CJI Gogoi ahead of the Ayodhya verdict

With much-awaited Ayodhya verdict set to be prounced next week, in an important development, Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi today called upon top officials from Uttar Presh before Supreme Court to review preparedness of State ahe of verdict.
In a meeting that started around on and lasted a little over an hour, Chief Secretary and DGP of Uttar Presh briefed Chief Justice on steps taken by UP government and UP police to ensure law and order is maintained in State before and after Supreme Court decision comes.

Ahe of judgment from Apex Court, Ayodhya has been turned into a fortress with more than 4000 paramilitary forces deployed in district to maintain law and order. Sources suggest that forces have been directed by UP government to ensure that body is allowed to spre any communal mess including political and religious leers within State.

Ayodhya land dispute, which is one of longest standing legal battles country has seen is expected to have large scale communal ramifications irrespective of which side verdict favours. Steps have been taken in several parts of country to maintain peace and harmony once verdict is prounced including Kanpur, Bhopal and Nagpur where Section 144 has alrey been put in place by State.

Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi who is set to demit office on vember 17, 2019, is likely to prounce verdict between vember 13-15 next week. A five-judge constitution bench h heard day-to-day arguments in case in a marathon hearing that lasted 40 days. verdict was reserved on October 16.
