Delhi Court grants bail to GST inspector in illegal gratification case
A shop owner had reported the matter to the CBI, alleging that the GST officer had sought illegal gratification from him over the phone on September 9.

A Delhi court on Friday has granted bail to a GST official, who was accused of accepting illegal gratification from a shop owner. official h asked for a bribe in order t to cancel GST registration of owner within a week of his arrest. shop owner h reported matter to Central Bureau of Investigation, alleging that officer h sought illegal gratification from him over phone on September 9.
GST inspector's vocate, Vijay Aggarwal said that his client h been falsely implicated. "It is clear from two factors, one being that his client was alleged to have me a phone call from a number on September 9, when in fact phone number was purchased by his client only on 21 of said month and two, that illegal gratification was allegedly recovered from pocket of his client," he submitted.

Earlier, Aggarwal h told court that re was hand touch on alleged illegal gratification, hence plantation cant be ruled out. Later, CBI h n laid a trap and allegedly caught officer in possession of illegal gratification. Special Judge Raj Kumar Chauhan said that accused was in judicial custody since his arrest and he cant be kept in custody for an indefinite time, thus granting him bail.
