Delhi Elections: EC imposes 3-day ban on Anurag Thakur for 'shoot the traitors' shocker

Days ahe of Delhi Assembly Elections, Anurag Thakur was seen chanting inflammatory slogans in a BJP election rally in Delhi. video shows Union Minister shouting 'Desh ke gdaron ko, goli maron salon ko' (Shoot all traitors of country) while campaigning for BJP candidate for Rithala Assembly constituency - Manish Chaudhari.
Taking cognisance of shocking slogan, Election Commission barred Anurag Thakur from campaigning for three days, and gagged BJP MP Parvesh Varma for 4 days. Both BJP leers remain off party's "star campaigner list." Incidentally, Union Minister is part of Finance team heed by Nirmala Sitharaman which will present Union Budget on February 1.

Three days after statement, on Thursday, a man wielding a pistol open fired near Jamia Millia Islamia University in national capital. He shot a protesting student, who has t been mitted to Holy Family Hospital. man opened fire after saying, "who wants Azi?". Soon after incident, he was detained by Delhi police. Speaking about incident, DCP South East Delhi Chinmoy Biswal said, "I am finding what incident is all about and investigations are on. We have deployed our forces in various areas."
'Shoot traitors'
Uttar Presh Chief Minister Yogi ityanath in interaction with Republic Media Network's Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami on January 28 came in defense of BJP leers who me controversial remarks in last few weeks. Siding with BJP leers, ityanath called m 'nationalists.' Yogi ityanath was asked about Finance Minister (MoS) Anurag Thakur's 'shoot traitors' statement, to which BJP leer responded saying, "If we are investigating as per law and order, re is a problem. If a nationalist makes use of such a langu somewhere, n you don't even like it. n what is way? It is a thought." Thakur on Monday was seen chanting an inflammatory slogan in a BJP election rally in Delhi.
