Dengue outbreak in Patna, Ravi Shankar Prasad visits patients

Union Law and Justice Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad visited a hospital in Patna to speak to the patients who’ve been suffering from dengue due to floods

Union Law and Justice Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, on Wednesday, visited a hospital in Patna to speak to patients who’ve been suffering from dengue due to flood-like situation in city. Several roads of city are still water-logged due to relentless rainfall in past couple of weeks.

During his visit to hospital, Union Minister spoke to patients and said that he has decided to visit health center to check preparedness. He said, "I am here to take stock of health services after floodwater receded. re were 119 cases of dengue in hospital, of which 16 are still here. Centre and State are working toger to control outbreak of diseases.”

Isolated areas still flooded

With isolated areas of Patna still flooded with water following last week's heavy downpour, threat of a dengue epidemic and various or diseases is w looming large over State and adjoining regions. As per health department, as many as 900 dengue cases have been registered in Patna since September, when heavy rains began and continued for weeks.  Bihar government on Thursday, October 3, began fogging process in waterlogged areas to prevent risk of vector-borne diseases in flood-affected regions.

rainfall in Bihar, especially in Patna, took face of floods. A lot of people as well as animals lost ir lives and water gushed into houses, crippling routine lives in city. Boats were also deployed to rescue people. Additionally, showrooms were also filled with water, making consumables go bad. Apart from Patna, low-lying areas like Kankarbagh, Rajendra Nagar, Gardani Bagh, Dak Bungalow, and SK Puri are also submerged. public, on many occasions, also banned Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for t taking appropriate action on current situation and said that he doesn’t care what public suffers through.
