Minutes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his address to nation anunced that lockdown in country will be extended till May 3, senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh thanked PM Modi for expressing his concern for daily w workers for "first time."

In a tweet in Hindi, Congress leader said that relief pack anunced by government especially free distribution of foodgrains should be followed soon. He also suggested that availability of a ration card should t be a criterion in this exercise. He also asked that during lockdown, from where will y get ir daily ws?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi while extending nationwide lockdown till May 3 ackwledged plight of daily w earners who have taken a massive blow due to lockdown. While addressing nation PM Modi said that daily w earners and labourers are his family and he is concerned about m.

“Those who are daily w earners, those who meet ir needs with daily income, y are my family. y are one of my top priorities. difficulties faced by m must be resolved," said PM Modi in his address. "We will do everything in our capacity to extend every possible help to m," he added while assuring labourers and daily wrs that government is chalking out plans for m too in fight against deadly pandemic which has also led to a massive ecomic crisis and job losses.

A total number of 10,363 cases of vel Coronavirus have been reported in India. So far, 339 people have succumbed to infection in country, while 1,035 patients have been cured. re are 8,988 active cases in country, according to Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
