Had Congress Given Priority To Rural India, We Would Have Less Poverty: Union Minister Gadkari

Union minister Nitin Gadkari accused the Congress of not prioritising rural India, saying had that been the case, farmers would not have committed suicide.

Wardha: Union minister Nitin Gkari on Saturday accused Congress of t prioritising rural India, saying h that been case, farmers would t be dying by suicide and re would have been less poverty in vills.

dressing a rally at Arvi in Wardha district ahe of vember 20 assembly polls, Gkari said BJP is neir a party of Prime Minister Narendra Modi r himself but workers who dedicated ir lives to it. He also hailed contribution of party workers in his political journey.

Nagpur MP recalled his days as a party worker when he would visit neighbouring Wardha district, in state’s Vidarbha region, on a scooter with a third pillion rider. region elects 62 of Maharashtra ’s 288 MLAs.

“In 75 years of India’s history, Congress never gave priority to development of country’s rural side. re were ros in vills or drinking water.

“Congress never seriously thought of development of rural India. H rural India got priority n farmers would t have committed suicide, re would t have been poverty in vills," he said.

Gkari said he does t oppose any kind of reservation but will never use religion and caste for politics.

senior BJP leer said those who are socially, ecomically and educationally backward should get reservation to become ecomically and educationally capable but t by putting forward shields of castes.

“We have to grow because of our work,” he ded.
