HC initiates PIL over non-payment of salaries to doctors

The Delhi High Court on Thursday initiated a PIL on the issue of non-payment of salaries to doctors in two hospitals, run by North Delhi Municipal Corporation, in the national capital.

Delhi High Court on Thursday initiated a PIL on issue of n-payment of salaries to doctors in two hospitals, run by rth Delhi Municipal Corporation, in national capital.

A bench of Chief Justice D N Patel and Justice Prateek Jalan initiated petition based on news reports that doctors of Kasturba Hospital, run by rth DMC, have threatened to resign as y have t been paid salaries since March this year.

news reports also stated that recently doctors of rth MCD-run Hindu Rao hospital h written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over n-payment of ir salaries for last three months.

Central government standing counsel Anil Soni said that court took suo motu tice of news reports and initiated PIL.

He said that court issued tices to Centre, Delhi government and municipal corporations and listed matter for hearing on Friday, June 12.
