Here's what Markandey Katju adviced to Yogi Adityanath after he announced Allahabad to be renamed
UP CM Yogi Adityanath announced that Allahabad will soon be renamed as 'Prayagraj'. Supreme Court judge Markandey Katju has reacted to this on his Twitter.

Ever since Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath anunced that Allahabad will soon be renamed as 'Prayagraj' ahead of Kumbh Mela next year, his government has come under a lot scrutiny.
Many political parties and leaders have criticized and lashed out at BJP-led government in state for this decision. And joining lot to voice ir displeasure is former Supreme Court judge Markandey Katju.

former Chief Justice of Delhi, Madras, and Allahabad High Court mocked Yogi Adityanath for idea to rename Allahabad on his Twitter post, which read,
"Dear @myogiadityanath, Congratulations for renaming Allahabad as Prayag. But surely that is t eugh. I recommend following furr name changes of UP cities be made to eliminate names of se Babur ki Aulads altoger."
In his tweet, he furr suggested UP CM to change names of 18 or districts of Uttar Pradesh to different names, including Agra to Agastyanagar, Aligarh to Ashwatthamanagar and Luckw to Laxmanpur.

Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath on Saturday had anunced that Allahabad would be renamed as Prayagraj very soon following demands of saints. He made this anuncement before media after meeting of Kumbh Margdarshak Mandal in city. He furr went onto affirm that state goverr Ram Naik had already supported demands of saints and people of Sangam city.
" government will soon send proposal of changing name of city soon to centre. Mr Naik (former MP from Maharashtra) had helped 'Bombay' to be renamed as 'Mumbai'. I have written to him to consider renaming Allahabad as 'Prayagraj', as a long pending demand of saints and people of city," said UP CM in his written application.
Yogi Adityanath also anunced that pilgrims would be able to see and worship Akshyabat and Saraswati kup during Kumbh Mela at Sangam early next year.
