Hope UK PM enjoyed samosas & sweets too: Modi replies to Diwali wishes
Modi responding to UK PM's "Shubh Diwali" tweet in which he referred to "samosas and sweets", said he fully agrees that the festival brings all of us together

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday thanked world leaders who wished him on Diwali and hoped that the festival of lights "furthers the spirit of harmony and happiness". Responding to British Prime Minister Boris Johnson's "Shubh Diwali" tweet and video message in which he mentioned "samosas and sweets" being handed out during Diwali, the Prime Minister said he fully agrees with him that the festival brings everyone together. "Hope he too enjoyed the Samosas and sweets this festive season," he tweeted responding to Johnson's tweet.
'May there always be brightness all around'
PM Modi also thanked Israeli President Reuven Rivlin and prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu for their greetings. While extending greetings to US President Donald Trump, PM Modi said: "As always, @POTUS @realDonaldTrump marks Diwali with great enthusiasm. Season’s greetings to him. May there always be brightness all around! (sic)". US Vice President Mike Pence also extended his Diwali greetings.
Responding to Diwali and Bandi Chhor Divas greetings by Canadian premier Justin Trudeau, Modi hoped that the special occasions bring happiness and good health in everyone's lives. Bandi Chhor Divas is celebrated by Sikhs and it coincides with Diwali.
