Uttar Presh Chief Minister Yogi ityanath extended his gratitude to freedom fights on 73rd Independence Day. 

In a tweet, BJP leer dedicated independence day to all freedom fighters who 'wrote a new saga of sacrifice and dedication' for liberation of India.

PM Narendra Modi on Thursday wished Indians on occasion of 73rd Independence Day as well for festival of Raksha Bandhan.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will dress nation from ramparts of Red Fort, Delhi from 7:30 am onwards on occasion of India's 73rd Independence Day on August 15. PM Modi will deliver his speech after hoisting national flag at Red Fort. Ahe of his Independence Day dress, he will be paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat at 7.00 am.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, on Thursday, wished nation and assured its safety in hands of Army.

"I wish all citizens a 'Happy Independence Day' today. I wish to assure citizens that nation is completely safe in hands of Army and paramilitary forces. decision to end article 370 is being welcomed by all Indians all over world. I also wish all citizens also a Rakshabandhan," he said.

On Wednesday, Ministry of Defence said that three women IAF officers will assist Prime Minister during Independence Day ceremony. Furrmore, Flying Officer Preetam Sangwan will assist PM Modi in unfurling of national flag, while Flt Lt Jyoti Yav & Flt Lt Mansi Geda will be positioned on eir side of saluting dais for Prime Minister.

On August 14, preparations were underway for grand celebrations of 73rd Independence Day across India. Government buildings across country were illuminated to mark occasion of freedom from colonisers - British.
