Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh to get new Bamboo Technology Parks

Union Minister and Minister of Development of rth Eastern Region Dr. Jitendra Singh on Thursday anunced that Bamboo Techlogy Parks would be set up in two new Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Lakh. He also mentioned that Cane and Bamboo Techlogy Centre (CBTC) under NEC will help implement project.
Dr. Jitendra Singh was attending a review meeting with officials of Ministry and rth Eastern Council (NEC) in Delhi. Ministry of DoNER Secretary Dr. Inder Jit Singh, rth Eastern Council (NEC) Secretary Shri Ram Muivah, and Senior Officers of Ministry and NEC were also present in meeting.

Bamboo Techlogy Parks
During meeting, Singh said, " A team of high-level officials of MDoNER h recently visited erstwhile State of Jammu & Kashmir, where commercial exploitation of bamboo grown in region was discussed with State officials, among many or issues. It has w been decided that model for bamboo cultivation, harvesting, and utilisation currently existing in rth Eastern Region shall be replicated in two new Union Territories to give a fillip to sector."

" project for setting up three new Bamboo Techlogy Parks in Jammu, Srinagar, and Leh would be in consonance with National Bamboo Mission (NBM). A Bamboo Industrial Park has alrey been approved to be set up in Dima Hasao district of Assam," he ded.

Dr. Jitendra Singh also reviewed progress of preparation of upcoming event “Destination rth East” scheduled to be held at Varanasi from vember 23rd to 26th, 2019. He also reviewed progress of projects for setting up two hostels and a convention centre for students and people of rth Eastern Region at Jawaharlal Nehru University, Rohini and Dwarka in Delhi.
