Kanhaiya Kumar's convoy attacked in Bihar for the 7th time in 2 weeks

CPI leader Kanhaiya Kumar's convoy was attacked again in Bihar on Tuesday and a Congress MLA's car, which was also in the cavalcade, was vandalised by suspected BJP workers.

CPI leer Kanhaiya Kumar's convoy was attacked again in Bihar on Tuesday and a Congress MLA's car, which was also in cavalce, was vandalised by suspected BJP workers. This is seventh attack on convoy in two weeks, claimed organisers of Kumar's state-wide "Jan Gan Man Yatra" which began last month and is scheduled to conclude a fortnight later with a rally in state capital.

Later sharing st with a host of leers from opposition Grand Alliance at a public meeting, Kanhaiya Kumar flayed Narendra Modi government for "divisive" Citizenship (Amendment) Act. Former Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi who hes Hindustani Awam Morcha, Congress MLAs Shakil Ahmed Khan and and Awhesh Kumar Singh dressed a garing at Sherghati in Gaya district.

Prior to reaching venue, convoy was attacked by a group of motorcyclists who hurled stones at vehicles leaving window panes of Singh's car shattered. He, however, was t injured in incident, party sources said ding that a police complaint was filed in connection with it.

A statement was put out by Joint Forum Against NPR-NRC-CAA, under banner of which drive is being undertaken, deploring " seventh such attack in less than two weeks since beginning of tour". statement said, " slogans raised by motorcyclists clearly indicated ir herence to a particular ideology" a reference to BJP which shares power in state and has been critical of Kanhaiya Kumar over his alleged involvement in a sedition case.

It is clear that BJP and state government of which saffron party is a part has been rattled by response "Jan Gan Man Yatra" has been receiving, it claimed. "Our delegation h recently met chief secretary and apprised him of frequent attacks. We w urge chief minister (Nitish Kumar) to intervene and ensure safety and security of those taking part in Yatra or lending support to it," statement ded.

More and more people from all walks of life are joining Yatra, claimed Congress MLA Khan who has been accompanying Kumar since commencement of tour on January 30. "We hope to defeat BJP government's nda of hate with love," Khan told PTI over phone.

Eggs pelted at car

Eggs and lubricants were hurled at car of leftist leer Kanhaiya Kumar by some unidentified persons in Jamui town on Monday when he was on way to neighbouring Nawa district to dress a rally against CAA-NPR-NRC. incident occurred in morning near a bus stand at Mahisauri chowk under town police station of Jamui when some unkwn persons emerged from crowd and threw eggs and lubricants (commonly kwn as 'mobil') targeting vehicle in which youth leer was travelling, police sources said.

Two Congress MLAs were with Kumar in car. A few eggs hit vehicle but since black glasses of car's doors were up it did t cause harm to anybody, sources said.  convoy carried its forward journey twithstanding unpleasant happening.
