Former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and poet, Dr. Kumar Vishwas, has hit out at West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her comments undermining the Chandrayaan-2 mission of ISRO. Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee made a shocking statement while speaking in the West Bengal assembly. She said that the celebration around the landing of the Chandrayaan 2 is being done to divert attention from 'economic disaster'. Mamata Banerjee also said the event is being seen as though such a thing was never carried out before.

Kumar Vishwas reacts to Mamata Banerjee's statement

Kumar Vishwas tweeted addressing to Mamata Banerjee's statement. He said, "Economic disaster is an important issue, all the citizens of this nation including the opposition has the democratic right to question the government and the finance minister. Sure be loud and agitate but at least spare ISRO. Do not disrespect the scientist. When will you and your brother understand?"

Mamata Banerjee's statement about the enthusiasm surrounding Chandrayaan-2

The statement made by Mamata Bannerjee mocked the hard work of thousands of those involved in the moon mission.

"As if the Chandrayaan launch is the first in the country. As if before they came to power, no such missions were taken up. It is an attempt to divert attention from economic disaster," the ANI reported her saying in the West Bengal assembly.

Nation prepares for soft-landing of Chandrayaan-2 on the Moon

The Vikram lander is supposed to soft-land on the Moon on Saturday at 1:50 AM, as the Indian Space Research Organisation, awaits (ISRO) with bated breath for the "terrifying moment." A successful landing will make India the fourth country after Russia, the US, and China to achieve a soft-landing on the moon.

India will be the first to launch a mission to the unexplored lunar south pole. Joined by about 60-70 high school students from across the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be present at the ISRO center in Bengaluru to witness live the space feat, according to officials.
