Mann Ki Baat: PM Narendra Modi emphasises on women empowerment
PM Modi addressed Nari Shakti in his Mann Ki Baat, focusing on women who build a better India. He urged citizens to share stories using #BharatKiLaxmi.

After returning to Delhi from the US visit, on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed various topics including e-cigarettes, Lata Mangeshkar, plastic ban, 'Bharat ki Laxmi' in his 'Mann Ki Baat' programme. This was PM Modi's first address after the visit. His special focus was on women empowerment and urged citizens to share stories of women achievers with the hashtag #BharatKiLaxmi. Soon enough, it began trending online.

In his address, PM Mod tweeted, “This Diwali, Let us celebrate Bharat ki Laxmi.” Social media buzzed with women from all spheres making their mark towards a better country.
Twitter boomed with an appreciation for women from all walks of life, who strive towards making the country better one step a time.
A twitter user posted the achievement of Rajkumari Devi, known as Kisan Chachi, who cycles through villages to share her tips on kitchen farming and of entrepreneurship in rural women.
Another tweeted about Harika Dronavilli, the second Indian woman after Humpy Koneru to attain the women's grandmaster title. She was also awarded the Arjuna Award in 2007-2008 by the Indian government.
Saalumarada Thimmakka, known as Alada Marada Thimakka who planted 385 banyan trees between Hulikal and Kudur highway stretch, said a twitter user in his post.
One tweeted about a dancer, 54-year old Narthaki Nataraj from Tamil Nadu, who became the first transgender to win the fourth highest civilian award the Padma Shri.
PM Modi's push towards women empowerment
Twitterati also posted pictures with their daughters, sisters, and mothers thanking them for their unwavering support. Some tweeted about high achieving Sportswomen or environmentalists. In his Mann K Baat programme he pushed towards organising programmes to felicitate daughters of the country. Prime Minister Modi completed his six-day US visit and attended the mega Howdy Modi event on the very first day of his arrival in the US. He addressed 50,000 Indian Americans at the NRG Stadium in Houston along with US President Donald Trump.
