MNS alleges trees in Govt quarters injected with chemicals, felled to put up hoardings

On Friday, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) wrote a letter to  Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) asking m to take immediate cognisance of trees that were being chopped-off illegally. letter alleged that trees near Kaveri government quarters in Worli were being injected with chemicals to slowly kill m, after which y were chopped-off stating that y were ill.

that was being cleared was n being used to put up hoardings and government vertisements particularly for  Swachh Bharat Mission. MNS cited ir complaint under  National Green Tribunal Act (NGT). NGT enables creation of a special tribunal to handle expeditious disposal of cases pertaining to environmental issues. 

MNS also released pictures showing spots where trees h been injected and how y were slowly drying and rotting up.
