Northern Army Commander meets J&K students, encourages to work hard

On ir return from a 10-day capacity building tour during which y also visited several places in New Delhi, a group of 20 girl students from Srinagar interacted with a top Army commander in Udhampur district Saturday and thanked Army for experience.

General officer Commanding-in-chief, rrn command, Lt Gen Ranbir Singh interacted with group at Udhampur hequarters and exhorted m to work hard, dream big and contribute positively towards nation building, a defence spokesman said.

Capacity building tour

He said students from various schools and colleges in Srinagar were returning from a capacity building tour organised under Operation 'Shbhavana'. tour aimed at providing exposure to students about rich cultural herit, diversity and ecomic growth in country, besides giving m insight into some of leing educational institutes.

tour was flagged off by Chief of Staff of Srinagar-based Chinar Corps on December 19.

students visited various places of historical and educational interest including Ly Hardinge Medical College, Convent of Jesus and Mary, Miranda House, Parliament house, Rashtrapati Bhawan, Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri, spokesman said.

He said students also visited various places of recreational interest in national capital.

participants also spoke about rich experience gained from tour and thanked Army for providing such an invaluable exposure, spokesman ded. Farheen Khan, a class 9 student, remarked that tour was an "unforgettable" exposure and that she was highly impressed with modern teaching practices being followed in some of leing educational institutions in Delhi. Army commander complimented all participants for successful completion of tour and also presented a book to each of participants, spokesman said.
