Odisha and Andhra ministers hold meet to resolve language issues of border area residents

Odisha Education Minister and Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council held a meeting to discuss language issues of border residents of the 2 states

Odisha Education Minister Samir Ranjan Das and Chairman of Andhra Presh Legislative Council Shariff Mohammed Ahmed held a meeting to discuss langu issues of border residents of two states. meeting was held in Bhubaneswar to majorly solve langu problems of Telugu speakers and Odia speakers at border areas of two states. 

Whati is Telugu-speaking people facing on Odia borders

Speaking to ANI, Chairman of Andhra Presh Legislative Council Shariff Mohammed Ahmed said, “We met Education minister regarding issues of Telugu-speaking people in bordering districts. re are nearly 80 lakh people residing around area who speak Telugu. y are facing langu problems in schools and want Telugu as ir mor tongue langu.”

Ahmed furr said that he h requested  Odisha Education Minister Samir Ranjan Das to fill sanctioned posts of retired Telugu teachers. However, a similar problem is being faced by Odia speaking students in Andhra Presh. Das said, “Andhra ministers expressed that Telugu-speakers have been facing some problems in state. Odia people in Andhra have also been facing problems. y have given a memorandum and we are going to dress it to best of our abilities. We have about 140 vacancies and state govt is doing its best to solve problem.”

Students' demand

Students residing in borders of se two states' have requested authorities to make ir spoken langu  primary langu and keep Odia and Telugu as optional langu along with Hindi. Also, Mohammed Ahmed explained that Telugu langu teachers' positions are yet to be filled due to unavailability of qualified teachers.
