The number of COVID-19 cases rose to 2,388 in Odisha on Wednesday as 143 more people tested positive for the disease, a health department official said.
Of the fresh cases, 132 were detected among those lodged at quarantine centres, while the remaining 11 were found due to contact tracing of COVID-19 patients, he said.
A total of 91 patients were cured of the disease on Wednesday, raising the number of people who have recovered from COVID-19 to 1,416 in the state, the official said.
The number of active COVID-19 cases in the state stands at 963. Seven persons have died of the disease, while two others who had tested positive for it died of other reasons, the official said.
The maximum of 41 fresh cases were in Ganjam district, followed by 24 in Balasore, 17 in Sonepur, 13 in Bolangir, nine in Kendrapara and eight each in Mayurbhanj and Nuapada.
Four cases each were reported from Sundergarh and Gajapati, three each from Sambalpur, Angul, Bhadrak and Khurda and one each from Kalahandi, Deogarh and Rayagada districts.
With the first COVID-19 case reported from Rayagada, the coronavirus outbreak has now spread to all 30 districts of the state, the official said.
He said Odisha reported over 100 cases for the third consecutive day on Wednesday. While 156 new patients were detected on Monday, the number was 141 on Tuesday.
The health department has conducted 1,62,891 COVID-19 tests so far.
The districts that have reported more than 100 coronavirus cases are Ganjam (499), Jajpur (290), Balasore (178), Khurda (170), Kendrapara (161), Cuttack (126), Bhadrak (123) and Bolangir (102).
