Patna Police Register FIR Against MP Pappu Yadav, 15 Others At Gandhi Maidan Police Station

Patna: The Patna police have registered an FIR against 16 individuals, including Member of Parliament (MP) Pappu Yadav, at the Gandhi Maidan police station on Sunday. According to reports, Purnia MP Yadav led a road blockade in Patna on Sunday, demanding the cancellation of the BPSC 70th PT exam, alleging a paper leak. Around 150 supporters took part in the procession, which began at Ashoka Rajpath and ended at Dakbungla Chowk, disrupting traffic. Some protesters also vandalised a vehicle and attempted to forcefully close showrooms.

In response, the police have filed an FIR against Yadav and his supporters for obstructing traffic, damaging property, and holding an unauthorized procession. Fifteen individuals were detained, with more to be identified using video and CCTV footage.

Yadav, who donned a towel as a symbol of protest, called on the Bihar government to cancel the BPSC exam and conduct a re-examination. He vowed to continue his movement until the education mafia and those responsible for the paper leak were held accountable.

Protests also spread to various districts including Buxar, Ara, and Purnia, where students set fire to roads and engaged in vandalism. The protests, backed by opposition parties, demand immediate action from the government to ensure a fair and transparent examination process.

The unrest comes amid growing concerns over the BPSC exam's integrity, with students demanding a fresh examination to address the alleged leak.
