PFI denies Rs 120 crore 'money trail' between party & anti-CAA protests, demands proof
Denying the money trail between the Popular Front of India (PFI) and the anti-CAA protests in Uttar Pradesh issued a statement condemning any such reports.

Denying money trail between Popular Front of India (PFI) and anti-CAA protests in Uttar Presh, party's General Secretary Mohammed Ali Jinnah, on Monday issued a statement condemning any such reports. Furrmore, he stated that PFI complied with law of land and challenged 'unnamed sources' of Enforcement Directorate (ED) to prove ir allegations. Explaining money transfer from PFI accounts to prominent lawyers, he claimed that payment was related to 2017 Hiya Case and t funding for 2019 CAA protest.

Popular Front of India h stated it multiple times that we fully comply with law of land and allegation of Rs.120Cr transferred from Popular Front’s accounts just before CAA protest is totally baseless and people who are leveling se allegations should prove se claims. truth is that transfers were me in 2017 as a lawyer fees for se vocates for Hiya Case," stated press release.

PFI link to UP's anti-CAA protests
Earlier in day, Enforcement Directorate (ED) has uneard a direct link between anti-CAA protests in Uttar Presh and Popular Front of India (PFI) - sending a te stating same to Home Ministry. Moreover, ED has found a link between Rs. 120 crores deposited in 73 bank accounts allegedly belonging to PFI from various sources and anti-CAA protests held in Uttar Presh, as per sources. 90 withdrawals were allegedly me in a day during protests against CAA, as per bank documents and proof procured by ED.

PFI and SDPI under police scanner
UP police has blamed PFI and SDPI for violence that erupted in state during protest against CAA. On December 31, DGP OP Singh formally wrote to Ministry of Home Affairs seeking a ban on PFI. UP CM Yogi ityanath too has challenged Congress, SP, and BSP in a recent rally, to reveal ir connection with SIMI and PFI alleging PFI's support to 'anti-social' elements. Violence has been witnessed in Uttar Presh for past weeks against amended Citizenship Act which has led to 21 deaths and many injured.
