PM Modi to celebrate Diwali with Jawans at Jaisalmer; CDS, COAS & BSF Chief to accompany

Continuing with his tradition to celebrate Diwali with security forces, Prime Minister Narendra Modi this year will be with jawans at Longewala in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. Chief of Defence Staff Bipin Rawat, Army Chief MM Narvane, BSF Director General Rakesh Asthana will accompany Prime Minister. His visit to border area will be significant as India has continuously stood against Pakistan sponsored terrorism and called out China's attempt to change territorial integrity along Line of Actual Control (LAC).
Moreover, on Diwali eve, Pakistan opened up unprovoked fire at four different places across LoC attacking civilian.Retaliating effectively to Pakistan's violation of ceasefire, Indian Army rattled several bunkers and posts across Line of Control (LoC). In response, Indian Army destroyed large number of Pakistan Army bunkers, fuel dumps and launchpads during which 10-12 Pakistani Army soldiers were killed, as per ANI sources.

PM Modi in a strong speech in 2019 had said, "Our country was partitioned... lakhs died and became refugees. But we have ill-will against m (Pakistan). But y hatched a conspiracy to take over Jammu and Kashmir. Our brave soldiers foiled ir plans and today we are proud to have it as part of India. y mand to capture some part of it, y have occupied it illegally - it still stings us," Prime Minister said.

PM Modi's Diwali celebration
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had celebrated Diwali in 2019 in forward areas of Rajouri district along Line of Control (LoC). He had posted a short video on his official Twitter account in which he can been seen in a combat jacket, feeding sweets to soldiers under a camoufld tent. PM Modi flew to Army Brigade Headquarters in Rajouri town and interacted with troops a few hours after Pakistani army targeted forward posts in district. In a series of tweets, he had shared a number of pictures of celebration with jawans. He was seen offering sweets to jawans in one picture, and in or pictures, he was seen saluting alongside Chief of Army Staff General Bipin Rawat, and rn Army commander Lt Gen Ranbir Singh. On his way back to from Rajouri, he also interacted with air warriors and personnel of army at Pathankot Air Force Station. In 2018, PM Modi spent Diwali with soldiers at Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) at Harsil vill near India-China border. Since becoming Prime Minister in 2014, PM Modi has been celebrating Diwali with security forces every year.
