PM Modi's 'will power' made abrogation of Article 370 possible: Nadda

BJP working president J P Nda on Monday told a garing of eminent people here that abrogation of special status of Jammu and Kashmir under Article 370 could happen because of "will power" of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and "strategy" of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He said move will restore peace in Valley and foster overall development in region.

JP Nda traced history of scrapped Article

Nda was speaking at 'Jan Jagran' meeting under national unity campaign of his party where he traced history of scrapped Article and significance of its nullification. meeting was attended by several eminent people from various walks of society in Pune, cultural and educational capital of Maharashtra. "Although Article was abrogated in one day, it was a long process. While Modiji showed will power, it was backed by strategy chalked out by Amitji (Shah). We h to take some measures in Valley prior to starting process of scrapping Article," he said.

In a historic move, Centre on August 5 turned Article into a de letter and anunced bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories (UTs). Nda said residents of Jammu and Kashmir region can join mainstream because of withdrawal of special status. " abrogation of Article 370 is t only a joyous moment for people of India but also for those in Jammu and Srinagar and as well as for those who live in border areas of state such as Gujjars and Bakharwals," BJP leer said.

While replying to a question wher decision to withdraw special status will be me part of educational curriculum, Nda said, " younger generation should kw all se things in detail". Earlier in day, he asked BJP workers to kickstart campaign for October 21 assembly elections in Maharashtra.

"If you look at Opposition, half of ir leers are eir in jail or on bail while some are visiting various ncies like CBI and ED," he said. Nda also ded that after Communist party, BJP is only such party where a ground-level worker can rise to higher ranks. On Sunday, Amit Shah virtually said that scrapping of special status of J-K would be raised in party's campaign in Maharashtra, where BJP is seeking a second term under chief minister Devendra Fnavis.
