After UP CM Yogi, Haryana to now consider law against 'Love-Jihad', says Minister Anil Vij

A day after Uttar Presh Chief Minister Yogi ityanath said that his government will bring a law against Love-Jih, Haryana Minister Anil Vij has on Sunday said that Haryana government will also mull same. In a tweet, Haryana Home Minister Vij said that cabinet under CM ML Khattar will also discuss proposal to bring a law against love jih. This comes after a 21-year old girl was killed in Faridab by her a man named Touseef who claimed to be in love with her despite she and her family spurning his vances, with incident being termed as being one of 'Love Jih' in certain quarters.

On Monday, a 21-year-old Nikita Tomar was shot de outside her college in Haryana's Ballabgarh in an incident that was caught on camera. As per news ncy PTI, incident took place when woman came out of her college after appearing for an exam. accused named Touseef allegedly tried to abduct her in his vehicle and shot her when she tried to resist. accused Touseef h proposed to Nikita in 2018 and h also spoken to her family for marri, however, after family's refusal, he h started pressurising girl. Touseef and his two accomplices have been arrested.
Yogi: 'Law against love jih'
dressing a rally in Jaunpur for upcoming UP by-elections, CM Yogi ityanath on Saturday proclaimed that his government will make a law against 'love jih'. Referring to a recent Allahab High Court's order, ityanath claimed that as HC h opposed changing religion solely for marri, his government too will bring a law based on it.

"Allahab High Court said religion conversion for marri was t necessary. Government will make a law based on this. Using 'Mission Shakti' we will keep mors and sisters safe. re will be 'Operation Satya' to protect women's dignity," he said ding, "I warn those who play with women's dignity, if y do t mend ir ways, n ir "Ram Naam Satya hai" procession will be carried out."

Allahab HC order on religious conversion
On Friday, Allahab High Court dismissed a writ petition filed by a married couple seeking stay on ir families from interfering in ir marri. court observed that Muslim-born woman converted to Hindu in June and n married as per Hindu rituals in July, clearly revealing that conversion has taken place only for purpose of marri. Ruling that conversion just for purpose of marri is unacceptable, High Court said it will t interfere in matter under Article 226, dismissing plea.
