Breaking his silence on collapse of BJP’s alliance with Shiv Sena in Maharashtra for first time, Union Home Minister Amit Shah asserted that BJP h t betrayed mandate as it was rey to form government with Sena in state. He stated that one in Sena objected when he and Prime Minister Narendra Modi repeatedly asserted in public about Devendra Fnavis being Chief Ministerial candidate of alliance. Shah revealed that Shiv Sena leers came up with new demands post declaration of results. He maintained that se demands were t acceptable to BJP. Earlier, on Tuesday, state of Maharashtra plunged into a political vacuum after proclamation of President’s Rule in state.

On wher BJP h agreed for a rotational CM, Shah remarked, "It is t culture of my party to make public what was discussed in a closed room. And it should t be done also. Because re is a morality in public life." He ded, "We have t betrayed mandate. We were rey to form government with Shiv Sena. But Shiv Sena put forth some demands which we cant fulfill. In public meetings, I must have said nearly 100 times, even Prime Minister must have said several times and Devendra Fnavis himself said that if our alliance comes back to power, Chief Minister will be Devendra Fnavis. one contricted this. w, when new conditions are put forward, we have our reservations. party will take a stand on this at right time. But I want to say only this. That uproar over imposition of President's Rule is a futile exercise to gain sympathy of people."
