chief minister of Andhra Presh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy met Union Minister of Home Affairs, Amit Shah on Tuesday and discussed various issues concerning state. He also discussed issues related to implementation of mega Polavaram irrigation project with Home Minister. Apart from all of this, Jagan Mohan Reddy also greeted Amit Shah on his birthday as he turned 55 on Tuesday, October 22.
Discussions during meeting
40-minute long meeting between Home Minister and Andhra Presh CM witnessed discussions on state's financial situation and or challenges. issues included implementation of Polavaram irrigation project, new capital city and issues pertaining to bifurcation of Andhra Presh. CM Jagan Mohan Reddy is making many efforts to develop a good connection with Centre as state of Andhra Presh is going through an acute financial crisis. state also has a long mounting expenditure bill as numerous new doles for different sections have been introduced in state. As per PTI report, state government suggests that Andhra Presh's debt burden is estimated to be Rs 2,58,928 crore by end of 2019 fiscal. As per government data, revenue deficit in 2018-19 was estimated to be Rs 11,654.91 crore, down from Rs 16,151.68 crore in previous year.

PM Modi and CM Reddy’s meeting
Earlier in October, Andhra Presh CM also met PM Modi and held a discussion with him on similar lines. y discussed Polavaram project, bifurcation issues, and new capital city as well. CM Reddy also invited PM Modi for launch of farmer welfare scheme ‘Rythu Bharosa' scheme in state. scheme was YSR Congress' poll promise. Chief Minister's meeting with PM Modi lasted for an hour as both discussed state-related issues.
