London-return Pushpam Priya Choudhary, daughter of JDU leer Vid Choudhary, on March 8 declared herself as Chief Ministerial candidate. Since n, she has been touring various parts of state and launched her party called Plurals. She says that her aim is to 'Open Bihar' to development and end '30 years of lockdown.' Despite her extensive tours, she has failed to get limelight even as campaign season heats up for Bihar elections.
On Saturday, she has launched list of candidates of her party for Phase 1, and Phase 2. As mination process for Phase 1 was concluded, she said that out of 33 candidates, Election Commission has rejected papers of 28 candidates. For Phase 2, Pushpam's party has named 26 candidates, out of which 13 are women and 13 are men. Even as mination of her party members was cancelled, she tweeted, "Jo dar gaya, samjho mar gaya".

Far Vid Chaudhary in JDU
After Pushpam Priya Choudhary declared herself as Chief Ministerial candidate, her far Vid Chaudhary clarified that JD(U) is t supporting her decision and stated that he will t switch sides eir. "It is her decision to declare herself as "Chief Ministerial candidate" and she is educated eugh to decide for herself," Vid Chaudhary h said. "Why will party support me. y have right to support. My daughter is challenging top leers of party."

This year's Bihar elections will witness clash of as many as five alliances. ruling JDU-BJP is contesting along with Mukesh Sahni's VIP and former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi's Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), while LJP has decided to go solo. Mahagathbandhan led by RJD has lost many key allies and is contesting with Congress and three left parties, with Lalu Yav's son Tejashwi as CM face.
On 28 September, Pappu Yav who is eyeing a comeback in politics of Bihar stitched an alliance of his party Jan hikar Party (JAP) with Chandrashekhar Az's Az Samaj Party', MK Faizi's Social Democratic Party and Bahujan Mukti Party. y named it Progressive Democratic Alliance (PDA). On or side, confident after his party's victory in byelections, AIMIM chief Asuddin Owaisi has teamed up with Upendra Kushwaha-led RLSP, Mayawati's BSP, Devendra Yav's SJDD, and SBSP as 'Grand Democratic Secular Front' to contest upcoming polls.

Bihar goes to polls in three phases for its 243 assembly seats on October 28, vember 3 and vember 7. Keeping in view COVID-19 protocol, voting time has been increased by one hour. counting of votes will take place on vember 10. In 2015 state polls, Mahagatbandhan comprising RJD, JD(U) and Congress won a whopping majority with 178 seats under leership of Nitish Kumar. On or hand, BJP-led alliance won from only 58 constituencies. On July 26, 2017, Nitish Kumar stepped down as CM citing irreconcilable differences with RJD over corruption allegations against Tejashwi Yav and joined hands with its former ally BJP.
