CPI(M) hit out at Union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Wednesday over his accusation that social media giant Facebook was biased against "right wing".

"I have been informed that in run-up to 2019 general election in India, re was a concerted effort by Facebook India manment to t just delete ps or substantially reduce ir reach, but also offer recourse or right of appeal to affected people who are supportive of right-of-centre ideology," Prasad wrote.

Media reports suggest that Facebook India team, right from its managing director to or senior officials, is dominated by people belonging to a particular political belief, minister said in letter.

"People from this political predisposition have been overwhelmingly defeated by people in successive free and fair elections. After having lost all democratic legitimacy, y are trying to discredit India's democratic process by dominating decision-making apparatus of important social media platforms," he said.
