Major embarrassment for Kerala government in Sabarimala row as Devaswom board minister in the Kerala assembly says only 2 women entered Sabarimala temple
The Kerala government is facing an embarrassment as the Devaswom board minister Kadagampalli Surendran inside the Kerala assembly said that only 2 women in between the age of 10-50 have offered prayers at the Sabarimala temple after the verdict of Supreme court's constitution bench on during the month of September 2018.

The Kerala government faced a major embarrassment on Monday as the Devaswom board minister Kadakampally Surendran, inside the Kerala assembly, said that only two women between the age of 10-50 have offered prayers at the Sabarimala temple since the verdict of Supreme court's constitution bench in September 2018.
Surendran informed the assembly that the government has confirmation about only two women in the menstrual age offering prayers in Sabarimala, according to the report submitted by the executive officer who was the in charge of Sabarimala temple during the whole season when the temple was opened.

Four Congress MLAs jointly had raised the question inside the Kerala assembly on the whole Sabarimala row and had sought the response from the Kerala government. The first question asked was about whether the Kerala government got any direction from the Supreme Court that they need to provide any security for the women who wanted to offer prayers at the Sabarimala temple. The answer section told that there was no such direction from the Supreme Court as such.

The second question was about how many women in between the age of 10-50 have entered the temple post SC order verdict, The minister had replied that two women have entered the temple according to the report submitted by the executive officer.
The third and fourth question was about the Sri Lankan woman pilgrim who claimed to have entered the Sabarimala temple for which the government told that they don't have information on it.

This comes two weeks after the Kerala government, in its affidavit in Supreme Court, stated that over 50 women have entered the Sabarimala temple since September.

There were many bursts by the opposition parties when the Kerala government filed that affidavit in the Supreme court. BJP and Congress called it as a blatant lie by the LDF government and accused them of cheating the Supreme Court.
