Naidu takes stock of special arrangements during mock session

Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday took stock of the special arrangements made for the monsoon session of Parliament from September 14 and conducted a mock session with him in the chair.

 Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu on Wednesday took stock of special arrangements me for monsoon session of Parliament from September 14 and conducted a mock session with him in chair.

During exercise, chamber and four galleries were occupied by staff of Rajya Sabha Secretariat according to new seating arrangement to ensure physical distance.

Staff members were also me to sit and participate from Lok Sabha Chamber, which becomes a part of upper house for entire session. Due to social-distancing rms, members will be seated in chambers of both houses and ir galleries.

While audio and video signal transmission from one chamber of house to or was thoroughly checked, interpretation signals were also found to be working well. People who sat in Lok Sabha Chamber were asked to participate in discussion and a sample voting process was also conducted by distribution of slips in all three places.

Chairman Naidu expressed satisfaction over arrangements, an official release said.

Naidu vised senior officials of Secretariat to ensure that all guidelines issued by Ministries of Home and Health & Family Welfare are followed scrupulously. He also directed officials to remind members through an visory about health protocols to be observed by m before and during session.

Naidu reiterated need to get every member of staff associated with functioning of house tested, process for which has been underway for two days. chairman also ministered oath to newly elected member from Andhra Presh, Parimal Nathwani, in his chamber.

oath/affirmation for remaining members who could t take oath on July 22 will be ministered on first day of session, statement said.
