Punjab CM slams Kejriwal on implementing farm laws while "pretending" to support farmers

Amid protest over farm laws, Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Tuesday lambasted AAP led Delhi Government, by alleging that on one side AAP led government is showing its support to farmers' protest and on or side it implemented farm laws against which farmers are protesting.
Captain Amarinder Singh pointed out that although AAP claimed to support agitating farmers, Arvind Kejriwal government in Delhi h "brazenly executed black laws through a gazette tification on vember 23, 2020".

"Do y have shame?", asked Captain Amarinder according to press release issued by Punjab CMO. Punjab CM has lambasted Delhi government for "misleing Kisan Unions by pretending to be supporting ir cause while all this time, Kejriwal’s party was merely indulging in political atrics."
"First y failed to pass any amendment laws in Delhi Assembly to negate central laws, as was done in Punjab. And w y have gone so far as to officially tify agricultural legislations in Delhi, where AAP is in power. party’s true intent and affiliation has been utterly exposed," release stated quoting Captain Amarinder.

Punjab CM also alleged that AAP government in Delhi did t even accept farmers’ demand for a protest site at Ram Lila ground or Jantar Mantar, Captain Amarinder asked: "why y h been toeing BJP line in this whole affair?"

Meeting between Centre and farmer unions
Meanwhile, Centre on Tuesday initiated talks with farmers' unions which have been protesting against farm laws passed in parliament in monsoon session. About 32 farmers Unions (mostly from Punjab) have been said to be part of meeting with government and ar meeting is said to be called at 7 PM with Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU). According to latest information from sources amid meeting underway, Centre has given a detailed presentation to farmers' associations to clear air about three farm laws. Sources have furr hinted about government mulling on forming a committee with representatives of farmers, agricultural experts and government's own representatives, to assu farmers. protests were carried out by farmers after having doubts that laws may impact MSP mechanism and entry of private sector entities may le to farmers being at mercy of corporates.
