Unable to run House, Speaker S N Patro journed proceeding thrice, first for 10 minutes at 10.58 am, n for 15 minutes and finally from around 11.30 am till 3 pm. speaker invited CLP leer Mishra, Leer of Opposition PK Naik, Parliamentary Affairs Minister B K Arukha and Jajpur MLA PP Das for an all-party meeting in his chamber.
During protest, Congress members led by Tarapras Bahinipati and Suresh Routray rushed to well of House and shouted slogans. As Bahinipati attempted to climb speaker's podium, House was journed till 3 pm. Mishra termed 'high-handedness' of UP Police as unfortunate.
Opposition leer Naik of BJP said that re is point in disrupting proceedings of Odisha Assembly over an incident in Uttar Presh. He said similar incidents have also taken place during Congress rule. Naik's statement was t audible eugh due to pandemonium in House.
