Shiv Sena backs Manmohan Singh, says 'he understands India's economy'

The Sena mouth piece Saamna on Wednesday backed former PM Manmohan Singh's remark on economic slowdown. It declared: National interest lies in listening to him

Hinting a rift between Shiv Sena and BJP, Sena mouth piece Saamna on Wednesday backed former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's remark on ecomic slowdown. In an editorial, Uddhav Thackery's party said: " kind of gross situation that has arrived in nation due to ecomic slowdown was warned by Manmohan Singh years back. It also stated that re is hesitation in saying that Manmohan Singh kws and understands country's ecomy. You have to believe him when he says that country will be doomed if ecomy is t in track. National interest lies in listening to Manmohan Singh's vice."

editorial also lauded government's brave move to abrogate Article 370, but clarified that Kashmir and ecomy are two different things. It said that supporters of government can argue against ecomic slowdown but former Prime Minister's words are like truth bombs. editorial went on to target its own alliance partner BJP saying that in last few years party has been focussing in winning elections, horse tring, while ecomy of nation went in doldrums. It declared that it will be wise to listen to former Prime Minister and t do politics on matters of ecomy.

Former PM Manmohan Singh's remark on ecomy:

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Sunday said state of ecomy was "deeply worrying". He ded that "all-round mismanment" by Modi government has resulted in this slowdown. In a statement, he said last quarter GDP growth rate of 5 per cent signals that "we are in midst of a prolonged slowdown". Congress leer said India has potential to grow at a much faster rate. Singh said it is particularly manufacturing sector's state was distressing.

"India cant afford to continue down this path. refore, I urge government to put aside vendetta politics, and reach out to all sane voices and thinking minds, to steer our ecomy out of this man-me crisis," he said. "This makes it very clear that our ecomy has t yet recovered from man-me blunders of demonetisation and a hastily implemented GST," he said ding, "Investor sentiments are in doldrums. se are t foundations for ecomic recovery."

BJP dismisses former PM's remark:

Information and Brocasting Minister Prakash Javedkar, dismissed Manmohan Singh's criticism of current Indian ecomy.  Javekar dressed media queries and said, "We do t subscribe what Manmohan Singh has analysed. We are t only walking talk". "We h an ecomy which was 11th in world. w we are among top 5 and marching towards third," Union Minister said while dressing media after Union Cabinet meeting. 

"What we are doing is, being a responsive government, dressing issues. We have seen this during process of GST. GST council met every month and took relevant decisions and it is w fine-tuned. That is way how people-friendly government works. That is how we are working, we are very sure that our ecomy will show performance bright as is expected and predicted," Javekar said.

As assembly elections approaches in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena and BJP, though continues alliance, are reported to be fighting among each or for being 'big bror' in Maharashtra. BJP president Amit Shah on Monday visited Mumbai and held a brief meeting with Maharashtra party leers, including Chief Minister Devendra Fnavis, but kept away from ally Shiv Sena. Putting all speculation at rest, Shah while dressing people in Solapur during  Mahajanesh Yatra said, “Devendra Fnavis deserves ar term to take development work ahe..". Citing PM Modi's second term, Shah said that like him people of Maharashtra should vote for Fnavis again. Moreover, Maha CM in an interview to a newspaper stated that he will be next CM. 

On or side, Yuva Sena president Aitya Thackeray was confirmed to contest in upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections as per sources. Aitya Thackrey has been touted as a Chief Ministerial candidate by many Sena leers. Shiv Sena MP Arvind Sawant iterated party's stance and said that Aitya Thackeray is rising sun and that Maharashtra needs him. Previously, Mahar Joshi demanded to make him as CM candidate citing that he possessed all qualities to le state. Sena's Rajya Sabha MP and Saamna editor Sanjay Raut too h said that Maharashtra needs a young CM like Aitya.
