SP decides to organise farmer rallies in all districts of UP on Monday

The Samajwadi Party will organize farmer rallies in all districts of Uttar Pradesh from December 7 with its chief Akhilesh Yadav slated to take part in such a rally in Kannauj district on a tractor, the party said in a statement on Sunday.

decision came after opposition parties, including many regional outfits such as Samajwi Party, came out in strong support of 'Bharat Bandh' on December 8 called by farmer unions which have been protesting on Delhi's borders for 11 days demanding repeal of Centre's new agri-marketing laws.

In statement issued here, Samajwi Party said youth and farmers from different districts will take out anti-government rallies to inform people about "b policies" of BJP government of state.

Yav will travel on a tractor from Thathia to Tirwa, covering almost 13 kilometers.

"Under BJP's rule, farmers have faced injustice most. BJP is selling mandis and farmers are t even getting minimum support price of pdy. prices of fertilisers and pesticides have gone up. BJP government has shown an insensitive attitude towards farmers," SP said in statement.

Akhilesh Yav, on Sunday also paid tributes to Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar at party office on his death anniversary.

Today, atmosphere is that rights of citizens are getting snatched. Games are being played with 'annata' (farmers). farmers have gared at border of Delhi.

BJP has got votes of poor and farmers, so it must listen to m. But, irony is that BJP wants to give an opportunity to industrialists,  statement said.
