Drama continues in Uttar Pradesh's Sonbhadra as Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra's dharna enters second day. Speaking to media she alleged on July 20 that the UP government instead of protecting the family are stopping leaders like me to meet them. She said that the mindset of the UP govt is beyond her understanding.
Two relatives of victims have come here to meet me, 15 others are not being allowed to meet me. Even I am not being allowed to meet them. God knows what their mindset is," Priyanka Gandhi had said this morning.

Taking to Twitter, Priyanka Vadra declared that until and unless everybody is allowed to meet her, she will not move. The family members of the shootout victims arrived at the spot to meet her and some were allowed to meet the Congress leader.

A day after Congress Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was detained by Uttar Pradesh Police as she was on her way to Sonbhadra where ten people were shot dead, TMC delegation also decided to paradrop, making the incident political. However, the TMC took to Twitter and said that its delegation wa detained at the Varanasi airport. The TMC delegation comprises of Derek O'Brien, Sunil Mondal, Abir Ranjan Biswas.
In a video posted by the party's official handle, Mamata Banerjee's party claimed that the ADM and the SP has not informed under which sections they are being detained. They also alleged that the Police said that they are acting 'as told from topmost'. Trinamool's Derek O Brien also said that the party delegation will cooperate and they will proceed to Sonbhadra soon. The TMC claimed that despite Section 144 in the area, they cannot be pulled as they are only three people. LAter they also protested sitting on a dharna at the airport, in the video, three can be seen speaking to cops.

Speaking over the incident on Friday, UP CM Yogi Adityanath assured that strict action will be taken against the accused in the matter.

"29 criminals arrested till now, a single barrel gun, 3 double-barrel guns and a rifle have been seized. Whoever is found responsible for this incident, strictest action will be taken against them," he said.
On Wednesday, ten people were shot dead during a shootout in a village in UP's Sonbhadra district over a land dispute. In the shootout, over 20 other people also suffered injuries. The police arrested 24 people in connection with the shootout.
