President Kovind wishes Sikhs on Guru Nanak's 550th Birth Anniversary

The President of India, Ram Nath Kovind has extended his wishes for the Sikh Community on the 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The President remembered the Sikh faith founder and said, Guru Nanak Dev Ji inspires us to build a society based on his teachings of equality, compassion, and social amity.

President Kovind attends Gurbani Gayan at Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre

President Ram Nath Kovind attended the Gurbani Gayan at Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre organised by Bhai Vir Singh Sahitya Sadan. The event was a part of celebrations of the 550th Birth Anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. During his address at the event, the President said, "Guru Nanak Dev Ji made efforts to create a society based on truth, satisfaction, kindness, and love in which all are equal." 

The nation is celebrating the 550th Prakash Purb of the founder of Sikhism Guru Nanak Dev Ji. On November 9 this year, the Kartarpur Corridor was also inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to commemorate Guru Nanak Dev Ji's 550th birth anniversary.  The Kartarpur corridor links Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Pakistan, the final resting place of Sikhism founder Guru Nanak Dev, to Dera Baba Nanak shrine in Punjab district.
