Raebareli MLA Aditi Singh goes against Congress to attend BJP session

Congress MLA Aditi Singh went against her party again by attending a special Assembly session called in by the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh.

Aditi Singh, Congress MLA from Raebareli (Sadar), after her recent support for BJP-led central government's move to abrogate Article 370 of Constitution that granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir, on Wednesday, went against her party for second time by attending a special Assembly session called in by Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh.

Special 48-hour session

BJP government made news on Gandhi Jayanti after it called for a 48-hour special session of UP Assembly on occasion of 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. meeting was also called for to deliberate on 'Sustainable Development Goals' set by United Nations.

While most of opposition parties including Congress, Samajwadi Party (SP) and Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) decided to boycott event, Singh t only decided to go ahead with it but also presented active participation during session. She spoke about issues relating to sanitation and drinking water that she said people were facing in her constituency.

While talking to a media house, she said that she has always talked about development in her constituency and that this event on Gandhi Jayanti looked like a good opportunity for her for discussing se issues. She also mentioned that she is ready to abide by whatever decision party takes because people in her constituency voted for her while keeping development in mind.

Singh to switch sides soon?

Surprisingly, t only did Singh attend BJP-organised event, but she also maintained a safe distance from a peace march that led by Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in Luckw on occasion of Gandhi Jayanti. Her presence during session sparked up rumours of her changing sides soon since she’s been seen supporting Modi-led government in its decisions. However, official statement has come out about same.
