A meeting was held at residence of Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray on September 15, 2019, which saw all of ir Members of Parliament (MP), Members of Legislative Assembly (MLA), as well as senior and local leers in attendance. meeting was called by Uddhav Thackeray was to essentially inform all party members to be prepared to contest alone for 288 seats if alliance with BJP fails.

Thackeray: 'Be prepared to contest alone'
Amid speculations that BJP might t agree to seat-sharing formula originally proposed by it, for upcoming assembly elections in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena has been conducting interviews of ticket aspirants for all 288 assembly seats and reviewed its poll preparedness on Sunday at a party meeting.
Shiv Sena President furr ded that before Lok Sabha polls, senior BJP leer and Home Minister Amit Shah h promised that seats would be divided 50-50 between two parties for assembly elections and w Thackeray hopes that BJP keeps that promise.

Aitya Thackeray: 'Sena will go by 50:50 formula'
While Sena is stressing on 50:50 seat-sharing formula for upcoming polls, BJP is apparently eyeing more seats to accommodate leers from or parties who have joined party recently. However, Yuva Sena chief Aitya Thackeray, who is currently touring Konkan region as a part of his 'Jan Aashirw Yatra', maintained Sena will go by 50:50 formula anunced by Chief Minister Devendra Fnavis while declaring alliance in February.

Uddhav Thackeray, Shiv Sena chief h previously stated that re is issue over seat-sharing with its ally Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for Maharashtra Assembly elections. He furr stated that everything between Shiv Sena and BJP has been alrey decided. Maharashtra Assembly polls are due in October.
