WB Guv: 'Eagerly waiting to attend Kali puja at Mamata's residence'
West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar on Saturday said Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has invited him to her residence on Kali Puja and he was 'eagerly waiting'

West Bengal Goverr Jagdeep Dhankhar, who h been locked in a war of words with state government on various issues, on Saturday said Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has invited him to her residence on Kali puja and he was "erly waiting" to be a part of celebrations. Dhankhar, while inaugurating a Kali puja marquee at a club in Barasat, rth 24 Parganas district, maintained that he was more than happy to have got invitation for puja - held every year at CM's Kalighat residence since 1978.

'Erly waiting' to attend Kali Puja
"I h written to Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee that I and my wife wanted to be at her residence on occasion of 'Bhai Dooj'. chief minister, after coming back from her rth Bengal tour, wrote back inviting me and First Ly to be a part of Kali puja at her residence. "We are very happy to get her invitation and are erly waiting to attend puja. Hopefully, I don't need to answer any or questions," Dhankhar told reporters.
A statement issued by Goverr's House here said that Banerjee, in her letter to Dhankhar on October 24, clarified that 'Bhatridwitiya' or 'Bhai Dooj' was one of those occasions when she reached out to or communities to spre mess of peace and harmony.

" essence of Indian Constitution lies in communal harmony and issue is very close to goverr's heart. In nation, all of us need to work for communal harmony. Goverr would also interact on this issue with Banerjee," it ded.
TMC leer upset over decision to invite Dhankar
Incidentally, a controversy h erupted on Friday after a TMC leer, who is also chief patron of Barasat club, stepped down from post, over decision to invite Dhankar. Sunil Mukherjee, chairman of TMC-run Barasat Municipality, said he was unhappy with club's move as "goverr h a bias against state government". Dhankhar, who took oath as goverr of West Bengal on July 30, h been at loggerhes with TMC government over several issues ranging from his seating arrangement at Durga Puja carnival to security upgre since he rushed to Javpur University on September 19 to "rescue" Union minister Babul Supriyo, who was being "heckled" by a section of students.
