Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh: Ahead of the grand inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, 2024, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath-led state government prohibited the sale of liquor on the ‘84 Kosi Parikrama Marg.’ An official instruction regarding the same has been issued, said officials.
State Excise Minister Nitin Aggarwal mentioned that all liquor shops on the ‘84 Kosi’ of Ayodhya will be removed to make Ram Temple alcohol free.
“It was our decision as per the instructions by CM that we prohibit liqour sale on the 84 Kosi Parikrama Marg. We have shifted the shops alloted there and we have completely prohibitted liqour sale on that Marg...It's a 150-175 km long road so we have shifted all the shops to other places,” said Aggarwal.
The big move comes after Aggarwal met Champat Rai, General Secretary of Ayodhya Ram Mandir Trust, and discussed about prohibiting liquor sales on the ‘84 Kosi’ stretch in Ayodhya.
The preparations for the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla are touching the final-stage, with work in full swing. Several state ministers, including Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, have gathered to take stock of the development works in Ayodhya.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Ayodhya on December 30 to inaugurate the newly-built airport and Ayodhya Dham Railway Station, along with other development works.
