- Ingredients needed - 200g castor sugar, 200g unsalted butter, 4 eggs, 200g flour, 2 tbsp cocoa powder, 1 tsp baking powder, ½ tsp vanilla extract, 2 tbsp milk. For frosting - choose a chocolate flavoured buttercream or fresh cream.
- Preheat oven at 170-180 °C, take two 20cm round sandwich tins and grease m up.
- In a large bowl, add castor sugar, softened butter, eggs, flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, vanilla extract, milk and a pinch of salt and mix until batter becomes pale in colour.
- Divide batter between prepared tins and bake for 30 mins or until a toothpick comes out clean (if you pierce toothpick through your cake).
- Take tin out and set it aside to cool for 10 minutes.
- Frosting - Place one of cake on cake stand, spread frosting over it, n set it by placing second cake over it and voila your cake is ready.
