Space X launch on Sunday creates loud sonic boom in Florida, residents scared

Space X launch on Sunday, August 30, 2020, created a sonic boom which was heard for up to 30 miles in Florida. Read on to know how the residents reacted.

Elon Musk’s exploration company X successfully launched its Falcon 9 rocket on Sunday, August 30. launch took place at 7:18 p.m ET. However, following launch, many nearby residents of area rushed to twitter to express panic and hysteria. Apparently Falcon 9 launch was so explosive that it created a sonic boom that was heard and felt across Central Florida. sonic boom created panic amongst people were unaware that company was conducting a rocket launch. What was purpose of X launch?

X has revealed that purpose of August 30 X launch was to put SAOCOM-1B communications satellite into a polar orbit. SAOCOM-1B communications satellite is an Argentine-built satellite. It is equipped with sophisticated rar imaging instrument.

satellite was separated from Falcon 9’s upper st within approximately 14 minutes of launch. Two smaller rideshare paylos named GMES 1 and Tyvak 0172 were deployed from Falcon 9 about 45 minutes later. This paylo included an Earth-observing satellite for Argentina.

X launch Sonic Boom scared residents

According to a report on Fox35 Orlando, sonic boom was heard when Falcon 9's first st landed at 'Landing Zone 1.' rmally during launches, Falcon 9 rockets land on a platform in water. However, residents rushed to twitter to express ir amusement and even panic at sonic boom. A resident named Gia Benn revealed that sonic boom h scared her so terribly that she jarred her back. Ar Twitter user and Florida resident commented revealing that he h heard sonic boom at his house, even though it was located about 30-40 miles south of cape. resident claimed that he could t recall hearing any or X launch.

Why was so widespre Sonic Boom?

Ar report on Flight w revealed that widespre sonic boom was a result of Falcon 9’s unusual trajectory. Generally Falcon 9 launches toward rast or east. However, on Sunday it darted through a cloudy sky and arched to Souast of Florida’s Coast. n rocket me a right turn and flew along East coast of US State over Fort Lauderdale and Miami. This happened because rocket was on its’s way to a polar orbit where satellites would be placed.
