AP CM Reddy assures PV Sindhu of girls badminton academy in state

The CM of Andhra Pradesh, Jagan Mohan Reddy, in a meeting with BWF World Champion, PV Sindhu assured her that he will be setting up a girl’s badminton academy.

Chief Minister of Andhra Presh, Jagan Mohan Reddy, in a meeting with BWF World Champion, PV Sindhu, assured her that he will be setting up a girl’s bminton acemy on five acres of land in Visakhapatnam. CM Reddy met Sindhu on Friday at  state secretariat in Amaravati. M Srinivas Rao,  Sports and Youth Affairs Minister from Andhra Presh, h said that PV Sindhu requested CM for setting up a bminton acemy for girls in order to encour women’s involvement in sports. Responding to her request CM Reddy has decided to allocate five acres of land for setting up an acemy in Visakhapatnam.  

PV Sindhu’s meetings with ministers 

PV Sindhu visited CM Reddy along with her parents, M Srinivas Rao, Sports Associations representative Chamundeswari Nath and a couple of officials from Sports Authority of Andhra Presh. CM Reddy congratulated her on win and wished PV Sindhu to win a gold medal in forthcoming Olympics. While Sindhu expressed her happiness over Chief Minister's assurance for setting up a bminton acemy. She furr asserted that she hasn't received any official information about her being minated for Pmabhushan. Sindhu is also scheduled to visit Vijaywa to meet  Goverr, Biswabhushan Harichandan at Raj Bhawan.

Bminton World Federation Champion 

Earlier, PV Sindhu became first Indian to win  World Championships with a gold medal by defeating Japan's zomi Okuhara 21-7, 21-7 in finals of tournament held in Basel. She and Okuhara battled for 110 minutes during final match of 2017 World Championships, duration of this match was just 38 minutes. Two days after emerging victorious, 24-year-old met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He congratulated her and said that she brought glory to nation by winning a gold medal.

 shuttler also met Vice President Venkaiah Naidu and Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports Kiren Rijiju, who presented her with a cheque of Rs 10 lakh.
