NBA launches new $6.99-per-month streaming service for live games

NBA recently launched a new streaming service which offers access to live games and shows for $6.99 per month. The service will include various new content.

The National Basketball Association (NBA) will be launching a new streaming service for live games and shows which costs a reported $6.99 per month. NBA will become the first major US professional sports league which will provide a subscription package to its consumers. Fans can access the games and shows through NBA.com or the NBA app. The yearly cost of the package will be $59.99. More than 100 exclusive games and online programmes will be available. The audience will also have advanced viewing options through their mobile phones, gaming consoles, tablets or web browser. NBA TV will also be available through a pay-TV provider.

What all will the NBA streaming service include?

Shows like NBA Game TimeBeyond the PaintShaqtin’ A FoolThe Warm Up, and NBA Crunchtime are also available on NBA TV. There will also be new shows like #Handles, Say What, High Tops, The List and Basketball Stories. These shows will revolve around NBA legends, conversations and stories.

Executive vice president and general manager of Turner Sports also made a statement about the launch. She said that innovation has always been a key factor in their NBA Digital partnership and this service will give NBA fans greater opportunities to interact. They also plan to develop new opportunities as and when sports consumption will evolve. NBA TV will also experiment with its content, and features new camera angles footage shot only on a phone. Group chats, analytics, and statistical graphics and more will be made available.

Chris Benyarko, NBA senior vice president, also commented on the launch. He said that NBA TV will be the ultimate destination for 24/7 premium access to NBA games and shows. Benyarko was also happy to provide fans with new ways to watch NBA, while will hopefully be a preview of the future viewing experience. NBA Digital, which consists of all of NBA's digital content and assets, is managed by NBA and Turner Sports. It includes NBA TV, NBA.com, NBA app, NBA League Pass and the NBALEAGUE.com.
