Australia took on Sri Lanka in the second T20I at The Gabba on Wednesday, October 30. After the bowlers bundled out Sri Lanka for a meagre 117, Steve Smith and David Warner made quick work of the chase after Aaron Finch was dismissed for a duck. The duo have been the stalwarts for Australia over the years and have put on commanding partnerships helping Australia dominate their opponents with ease. 1. Australia vs Sri Lanka 2019, 2nd T20I, 117* (Warner 60-Smith 53)

David Warner and Steve Smith put the Sri Lankan attack to the sword making light work of the 118-run target. Sri Lanka in the first over of the innings, dismissing Aaron Finch for a duck, which was the only shining light in the match for SL. Warner and Smith both scored half-centuries as Australia won the match by 9 wickets with 7 overs to spare.

2. Australia vs Pakistan 2016-17, 4th ODI, 120 (Warner 130- Smith 49)

Steve Smith and David Warner put on a vital 120-run stand against Pakistan in the 4th ODI. Warner from the start of the innings was ruthless, being particularly severe on left-arm pacers Junaid Khan and Mohammad Amir. Smith walked in after Usman Khawaja was dismissed. Smith complemented Warner’s attacking instincts by quickly accumulating runs, rotating the strike. While Warner scored a blistering 130, Smith fell agonizingly short of a half-century, after being dismissed for 49.

3. Australia vs New Zealand 2nd ODI 2016, 145 (Warner 119- Smith 72)

New Zealand were on the receiving end of yet another Warner-Smith assault. Smith walked in to bat after the dismissal of Aaron Finch and the duo set to work to guide Australia to a mammoth total. Warner brandished his stroke play scoring yet another century while Smith helped him to a half-century as the duo put on a 145 run stand to guide Australia 378, which seemed enough in the end as Australia won the match by 116 runs.

4. South Africa vs Australia 3rd ODI 2016, 124 (Warner 117- Smith 108)

On a batting-friendly wicket in Durban, David Warner and Steve Smith helped themselves to hundreds but that wasn’t enough for Australia to win the game. The duo put on a 124-run stand, going in hard on the South African pace duo of Dale Steyn and Kagiso Rabada. While David Warner scored 117, Steve Smith added 108 as Australia posted 371, which wasn’t enough as South Africa chased it down in a thriller.

5. Australia vs Afghanistan, ICC Cricket World Cup 2015, 260 (Warner 178-Smith 95)

David Warner was at his devastating best as he battered the Afghani bowling attack. In the company of his usual partner in crime Steve Smith, Warner scored a mammoth 178 en-route a 260-run stand with Smith, who was eventually dismissed for 95. Their partnership helped Australia win the game by a record of 275 runs.
